Dan’s Diner is a well-established local dining venue in Wondai, Queensland, serving quality meals in a friendly and welcoming environment.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
About the Role
This is an excellent prospect for a chef who enjoys working in a hands-on kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality food.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking meals to a consistently high standard
- Managing day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintaining food quality, presentation and portion control
- Menu preparation and contributing new ideas
- Stock control, ordering and minimising food wastage
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Training and supporting other kitchen staff where required
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Has strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Can work independently and confidently manage a kitchen
- Has excellent time management and organisational skills
- Takes pride in food quality and presentation
- Is reliable, professional and has a strong work ethic
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment
- Holds relevant food safety qualifications and/or formal culinary qualifications (preferred)
What We Offer
- $80,000 – $85,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
- 482 visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate
