- Salary: $66,775 - $75,052 gross p.a. plus 12% Super
- Additional $1,055.08 gross p.a. Adverse Working Conditions Allowance
- 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 9-day fortnight
- Based at the Nowra Croquet Courts

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising and coordinating staff, contractors and plant resources to deliver the maintenance, renewal and construction of a diverse range of Council assets. Working across multiple work sites, you will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while contributing to the ongoing management and enhancement of community infrastructure.

Working across a diverse asset portfolio, you will oversee the maintenance, renewal and construction of roads, drainage, parks, bridges, recreational facilities and other community infrastructure.

The main duties of this role includes:

- Supervise and direct up to two workers or contractors or combinations of these up to two and, if required, undertake any of the duties listed below.
- Read, interpret and implement plans.
- Operate and maintain plant items such as crane (hiab) up to 4 tonne.
- Operate and maintain light trucks up to and including those requiring an MR class driver's licence. Potential to be required to obtain and use a HR Licence.
- Operate and maintain plant items such as tractors, rollers, forklifts. Potential to be required to obtain licence/s for other heavy plant.
- Undertake manual tasks such as shovelling, raking, digging, and lifting and traffic control. To set up formwork and pour concrete for footpaths, kerb and gutter repairs, lay stormwater pipes and headwall construction.
- Inspect, maintain and repair flood mitigation assets.
- Operate and maintain small plant items such as chainsaws, vibrating plate, jack hammers, concrete saws, electric power tools, vegetation trimmers.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.





About You To be successful in the position, you will have:

- School Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction and or maintenance activities
- Class C Driver's Licence
- Minimum NSW Class MR Driver's Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
- Current NSW General Construction Induction Card (WhiteCard) or acceptable interstate alternative.
- 'Traffic Controller' and 'Implement Traffic Control Plans' or ability and willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in effective supervision of workers on site including contractors hired on a daily basis, or combination of contractors and employees
- Proof of right to work in Australia
