Company Description HHA is a registered charity that supports custodians of historic homes by building public and government understanding and appreciation of the community function and perks of these places and collections.
HHA promotes the appreciation, study and cultural understanding of Australian places and collections for their historic, architectural, social, or scientific significance.
HHA is looking to grow its activities in line with the company’s objectives and charitable purpose in order to sustain a permanent General Manager role
Role Description The General Manager will be accountable to the Board for the leadership, management and growth of the organisation. The GM is responsible for translating the Board’s strategic direction into operational outcomes and ensuring HHA develops into a sustainable, professionally managed national organisation.
The General Manager oversees day-to-day operations, ensures alignment with strategic objectives, and supports the delivery of key industry initiatives and member services. Responsibilities include managing budgets, resources, and workflows; leading and mentoring staff; and communications, marketing and brand development.
The General Manager also monitors performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements policies and processes that enable effective governance and organisational efficiency.
The board will set out the year 1 strategic priorities to be agreed with the GM within the first 30 days. There will be 90 day success measures to be reviewed in collaboration with the board. The GM’s performance will be assessed against the 12 month success measures.

- Leadership of all staff, contractors and volunteers.
- Membership growth and stakeholder engagement.
- Governance, risk and compliance management.
- Communications, marketing and brand development.
- Technology, systems and operational improvement.
Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrated senior leadership capability.
- Demonstrated ability to drive and run successful programs ideally in a not-for-profit organisation.
- Strong financial management capability.
- Governance and risk management experience.
- Fundraising and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Heritage, museum, tourism, property or cultural sector experience.
- Knowledge of ACNC and NFP governance requirements

$60,000 (including super) plus performance bonus
