This is an exciting opportunity to join SMS Mining Services at an important stage of our growth as we expand into the contract mining industry. With multiple recent clients and sites secured, our operations are continuing to grow, creating a range of new opportunities across the business. As we build and strengthen our head office team, we are looking for experienced and capable people to help support, coordinate and oversee these expanding operations.

This is a chance to be part of a growing team and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of our new and existing projects.

We are seeking a Graduate Mining Engineer to join our growing Mining team at our High Wycombe head office. This is a great opportunity to build your skills and gain hands-on experience supporting production scheduling and operational planning across our expanding mining operations.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Assist with mine estimating, short, medium mine planning.
- Collect, analyse and interpret mining and production data.
- Assist with drilling and blasting design and optimisation.
- Monitor production performance against plans and targets.
- Prepare technical reports, plans, schedules and production forecasts.
- Work with tendering and site operations teams.
- Assist with cost estimation, budgeting and operational improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, equipment utilisation and costs.
- Completed structured graduate development and professional training programs.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor of Engineering (Mining).
- Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of mining engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and engineering data.
- Competent with Microsoft Excel and engineering software, such as Surpac or similar.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in an operational mining environment, including site-based or FIFO work where required.
- Commitment to health, safety, environmental and operational standards.
