Shift Supervisor / Experienced Section Waiter

Salmon & Bear Crows Nest is looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor / Section Waiter to join our Front of House team.

This is a hands-on floor role. Depending on the shift, you’ll either be running the service as Shift Supervisor or managing your own section as an experienced waiter/waitress.

We’re looking for someone who loves being on the restaurant floor — looking after guests, leading by example and helping create the relaxed, professional service Salmon & Bear is known for.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

- Robust restaurant experience as a Section Waiter/Waitress, Shift Supervisor or similar
- The confidence to independently manage a busy section
- The ability to step up and lead the FOH team when rostered as Shift Supervisor
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm, organised and positive during busy services
- High standards and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence handling guest feedback and finding guest-focused solutions
- A hands-on approach to leadership — you’re comfortable leading the team while working alongside them
- Strong spoken English and confidence communicating naturally with guests
- A valid NSW RSA

If you’re currently an experienced section waiter/waitress who is ready to take the next step into supervising services, we’d also love to hear from you. When supervising, you’ll be responsible for:

- Leading the FOH team through service
- Running pre-shift briefings and allocating sections




- Coordinating the floor and managing the flow of service
- Ensuring our sequence of service is delivered for every guest, every time
- Supporting and coaching FOH team members throughout the shift
- Handling guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
- Communicating closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service
- Completing opening, closing and shift responsibilities

When working a section, you’ll be responsible for:

- Independently managing your own section
- Providing warm, knowledgeable and attentive service
- Building genuine rapport with guests
- Confidently guiding guests through the menu and making recommendations
- Managing the full sequence of service from arrival through to payment
- Working closely with the wider FOH and kitchen team to deliver a smooth service
- Maintaining Salmon & Bear’s service and presentation standards throughout the shift
