About the role

As Area Manager, you'll oversee a portfolio of commercial, retail, and school cleaning sites — building strong client relationships, supporting your site supervisors and cleaning teams, and making sure every site delivers a top-quality service. This role covers a wide geographic area, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling long distances between sites as part of your regular week. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and show your team how it's done, and you bring real industry know-how to every site you manage.

What you'll be doing:

- Managing day-to-day operations across your portfolio, ensuring high standards and full compliance with Health & Safety legislation




- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular site visits and clear communication
- Leading, training, and supporting site supervisors and cleaning staff, on the ground when needed
- Keeping an eye on costs and looking for ways to run your sites more efficiently
- Spotting opportunities to grow the business through strong client relationships and site knowledge
- Reviewing quality audit results and following up where needed
- Reporting weekly to the Head of Operations, with clear action plans where KPIs need attention

What we’re looking for:

- Experience managing teams or sites in commercial cleaning (retail and/or school cleaning experience highly regarded)
- Confidence building relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels
- Solid understanding of OHS practices and legislation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Great time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- A problem-solver who takes initiative
- Comfortable with everyday computer use (email, reporting, etc.)
- Willingness to travel long distances between sites as required
- Current driver's licence, valid Working with Children Check, and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
