Waratah-Wynyard Council have an exciting opportunity available for a Manager People & Culture to support our growing municipality.

Are you an experienced People & Culture leader ready to make a meaningful impact across our organisation? Waratah Wynyard council are seeking a Manager People and Culture to provide strategic and operational leadership across our People and Safety functions.

This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape how we attract, develop, support and retain people while building organisational capacity, strengthening leadership and fostering a positive, accountable and high performing workspace.

This is a permanent full-time position working 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Experience in EBA process, with high developed communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to provide considered strategic advice and influence decision making at senior and executive levels.
- Solid experience across people & culture, organisational development, workforce planning and employee relations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Work Health and Safety.

The position level will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Statements addressing Essential Selection Criteria:

- 1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Work Health & Safety, Management or a related discipline, or substantial demonstrated experience in a comparable senior leadership role. *
- 2. Demonstrated experience leading people, culture, organisational development functions, including workforce planning, employee relations, leadership development and organisational capability. *
- 3. Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of employment legislation, industrial relations, Work Health & Safety, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and organisational governance within a complex and regulated environment. *
- 4. Proven ability to provide strategic advice and influence decision-making at Executive and management levels, including the preparation of high-quality reports, recommendations and briefing material. *
- 5. Demonstrated leadership experience in organisational improvement, including change management, business improvement,



customer experience initiatives and the implementation of organisational strategies. *
- 6. Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships, manage sensitive matters and influence positive organisational outcomes. *
- 7. Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess organisational risk, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex operating environment. *
- 8. Demonstrated ability to operate as a collaborative member of a leadership team, exercising sound judgement, professionalism and integrity while supporting organisational performance and service excellence. *
