Bejo is a globally recognised leader in vegetable seed breeding, production and distribution, operating in more than 30 countries and supporting growers worldwide through innovation, research and sustainable agricultural practices. In Tasmania, Bejo has established a significant presence across research and development, laboratory services, seed processing and agricultural production, with continued investment supporting future growth.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and forming part of the Executive Management Team, this is a unique opportunity to lead health and safety across Bejo's operations in Australia and New Zealand. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of workplace health and safety, partnering with leaders to drive a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance, managing risk and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading and continuously improving the WHS framework, policies and governance systems
- Managing compliance, risk management processes, audits and site inspections
- Driving a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation
- Leading incident investigations, workers compensation and return-to-work programs
- Maintaining safety reporting, performance metrics and compliance systems
- Supporting contractor management and operational safety activities
- Managing emergency preparedness and business readiness programs




- Partnering with leaders to ensure safety is embedded into business planning and operational decision making

The role is based in Richmond with regular travel to operational sites, particularly Cressy and Plenty, and occasional interstate travel.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you'll bring qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline together with experience leading or contributing to WHS programs within an operational setting. You'll have a strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, incident investigation, workers compensation and compliance requirements.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who can build trusted relationships, influence leaders and drive positive safety outcomes across a diverse operational workforce. Experience within agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, logistics or similar industries will be highly regarded but is not essential.This opportunity could suit an experienced Health & Safety Manager or a high-performing Safety Advisor, WHS Coordinator or similar professional ready to step into a broader leadership role.
