Our client is a well-established industrial manufacturing business with a strong operational presence in the Newcastle region. We are partnering with them to appoint an experienced HSE Advisor on a fixed-term contract to support their site-based operations.
This opportunity will suit a practical and proactive safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, building strong relationships across site and contributing to a positive and proactive safety culture.
Reporting into senior operational and safety leadership, you will provide hands-on HSE support across the site, working closely with leaders, employees and contractors to maintain compliance, support continuous improvement and strengthen safety practices across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support across site operations
- Partner with operational leaders and employees to promote strong safety practices
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Support incident investigations, corrective actions and follow-up activities
- Monitor HSE performance, reporting and compliance requirements
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems, procedures and processes
- Support risk assessments and hazard identification activities
- Assist with contractor safety and compliance requirements
- Support environmental and legislative compliance obligations
- Contribute to ongoing safety initiatives and continuous improvement across the site
About You
- Previous experience in an HSE, Safety or similar advisory role
- Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, engineering,
mining or another operational environment
- Robust knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with incident investigations, audits, inspections and risk management
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A practical, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
- Confidence working directly with frontline operational teams and senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational, documentation and reporting capability
