- Hospital security: Protect patients, staff, visitors and hospital property through access control, identification checks, security patrols and monitoring of restricted areas.
- Emergency response: Respond to Code Black, duress activations,
aggressive behaviour and other security incidents. Apply de-escalation techniques and support clinical staff during lawful restrictive interventions when directed.

- Patient movement: Accompany and maintain observation of patients when directed by clinical staff, including movement to treatment areas, imaging, other hospital locations and inter-hospital transfers within the region.
- Confidentiality and compliance: Maintain strict patient and hospital confidentiality, professional boundaries and privacy at all times, and comply with hospital policies, procedures and contractor requirements.
- Reporting: Complete accurate observation records, incident reports, security logs, handover records and other required documentation. Report faults involving doors, locks, lighting, CCTV, alarms and duress systems promptly.
A note on regional hospital work: Many of our South West sites are smaller country sites where you may be the only security officer on site.
