About the role The HR Team Leader is Killara Services' first onsite People & Culture resource. The role delivers hands-on, day-to-day HR support across the business - recruitment, onboarding, employee relations administration, HR systems and records, training coordination and staff engagement and acts as the first point of contact for site managers and staff on all people matters.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity, run onboarding and site inductions, and prepare contracts and new-starter documentation, escalating award/EBA classification queries before any offer issues.
- Manage day-to-day employee relations case administration, records and correspondence, escalating complex cases, terminations and any FWC-adjacent matter through the dotted line for review and sign-off.
- Own accurate, audit-ready HRIS/UKG data entry and record-keeping at the source, and maintain templates and the HR document library.
- Carry out day-to-day compliance administration and record-keeping (Fair Work Act, right-to-work and visa documentation) to standards that hold up under FWO or FWC scrutiny, with governance oversight retained by GJK.
- Coordinate training activity and run 30/60/90-day development check-ins for new starters within the established training and certification framework.
- Act as the named, visible HR contact for site managers and staff, feeding people matters into daily operational decisions in real time.
- Support managers with day-to-day people and performance management processes and documentation.
- Support staff engagement and retention initiatives aligned to Killara's broader people strategy.
- Undertake periodic remuneration benchmarking using agreed market datasets, industry benchmarks and established remuneration bands, with specialist advice engaged where required.
- Document standard operating procedures for each HR workflow as it transitions onsite, building a complete handover pack of SOPs, templates and precedents.

About you

- Demonstrated HR generalist experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations administration and HR records management.
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements — sufficient to recognise classification, compliance and termination risk and escalate it appropriately.
- Experience maintaining accurate, audit-ready HR records and documentation in an HRIS.
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the judgement to be a credible first point of contact for operational managers and frontline staff.
- Proven ability to document processes and follow defined escalation and sign-off protocols.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Desirable: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline.
- Desirable: Experience with UKG or a comparable HRIS/workforce management platform.
- Desirable: Experience in facilities services, cleaning, security or another multi-site, award-covered workforce setting.
- Desirable: Exposure to contract mobilisation/demobilisation or provider transitions.
