Software at Scale The ICT Support and Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, quality, and compliance of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and software systems. This role involves rigorous system testing, performing quality audits, troubleshooting complex technical issues across hardware and software, and developing technical documentation to support end-users and ensure adherence to established IT standards.

responsibilities Software Development Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions in line with project requirements and technical standards. Contribute to architecture decisions and technical designs.

Test, identify, and diagnose functionality errors and faults in systems and programming code to ensure software solutions perform to specification in line with project requirements. Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable, and secure software and system installations. Contribute to organisational systems architecture reviews and technical designs, recommending current and future hardware and software testing strategies.

Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to senior and staff engineers and peers regarding application software, established testing protocols, and operational procedures. Promote engineering best practices, including code quality,



testing, documentation, and DevOps principles. Promote engineering and quality best practices by scheduling and conducting quality audit inspections, and reviewing systems, data, and technical documentation (including DevOps and CI/CD pipelines).

Recommend corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards detected through monitoring and auditing of processes. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of features and projects.

Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups to ensure successful testing, functionality, and delivery of features and projects. Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, communicating and liaising to ensure awareness and adherence to standards, procedures, and quality control issues. Create and review technical documentation such as procedural, instructional, and operational guides and manuals, technical reports, and maintenance inventory systems.

Continuous Improvement Proactively identify technical debt, propose improvements, and contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) testing and quality assurance processes. . Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the Company’s technology stack. Analyse, evaluate,



and diagnose technical problems and issues such as installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade and configuration of operating systems, databases, and software.

Compliance and Security Adhere to the Company’s information security, data privacy, and compliance policies. Ensure that all software tested and supported meets security and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry, including troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in security systems. Qualification & experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

At least 1 year of proven experience in IT support, systems testing, or ICT quality assurance. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across a wide range of hardware, software, and network components. Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and testing methodologies.
