An opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join the Business Services division of a highly regarded accounting firm. Recognised for its expertise across Accounting and Tax, the firm has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months and continues to invest in its people, technology and client offering.
Operating under a collaborative resource pooling model, you'll gain exposure to multiple Partners, diverse industries and a broad range of technical work rather than being confined to a single portfolio. This structure provides exceptional mentoring, accelerated learning and exposure to both compliance and advisory services.
Working with SMEs and privately owned businesses with turnovers up to $20 million, you'll service clients across industries including construction, agriculture, manufacturing, medical, media and retail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Prepare BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and other statutory compliance obligations
- Calculate Capital Gains Tax, depreciation schedules and gains or losses on asset disposals
- Assist with tax matters including FBT, CGT and Division 7A
- Support management accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Liaise with the ATO, ASIC,
financial institutions and legal representatives on behalf of clients
- Assist with ASIC corporate compliance and company secretarial matters
- Contribute to tax planning, business advisory and other value-added client projects
Applicants
- Approximately 2+ years experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Currently studying CA/CPA or qualified
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Commercial mindset with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Motivated, proactive and eager to continue developing your technical skills
