About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our tax & business services practice. Reporting to a Director and working alongside our senior accountants/ managers/ director, you will run your own portfolio of compliance and advisory work, along with the client relationships that come with it.

6 months in, you should own your clients. You know their structures, you know what is coming for them, and they call you first. That is the mark we are hiring against.

This is a full time role in our West Perth office, offering competitive remuneration, real benefits and a clear path forward. Interviews are open now and we are looking for someone who can commence immediately or at short notice.

What you will be doing

1. Preparing financial statements, income tax returns and supporting workpapers for companies, trusts and individuals.
2. Hands on bookkeeping and review work, including Xero reconciliations, FBT, BAS and GST reporting.
3. Supporting work for blue chip and ASX listed clients, including structured reporting and compliance tasks.
4. Providing strategic tax planning advice to support clients' financial objectives.
5. Researching and interpreting taxation legislation to reach a position you can defend.
6. Using our AI enabled systems and offshore support to lift the speed and quality of your output, and helping us improve how we work.
7. Answering client calls, returning them the same day, and resolving matters on the phone instead of letting them age in an inbox.
8. Mentoring and training junior team members.
9. Building client relationships that outlast any single engagement.

3 Core Skills

1. AI fluency. You either already use AI tools in your daily work,



or you are genuinely eager to learn. We run contemporary, AI enabled systems and we expect every accountant to use them well. Prior experience is welcome, curiosity is essential, and resistance to new tools will not work here.
2. Client centric & communications to the core. Our clients are business owners and families, not file numbers. You anticipate what they need, you explain it in plain English, and you own the outcome rather than the task.
3. You pick up the phone. We are not a firm that hides behind email. If a client rings, you answer. If a two minute call resolves what three emails will not, you make the call. If this part makes you uncomfortable, this is not the firm for you.

Who thrives here

1. Methodical. You do it properly the first time. Your workpapers should be something you would happily hand to the ATO without a rewrite.
2. Punchy. We get to the point. Short emails, quick calls, clear advice, no hedging for the sake of it.

What we are looking for

1. 2 or more years of post qualification experience in a taxation or accounting role, ideally in professional services.
2. 2 to 5 years of professional practice experience at intermediate or senior accountant level.
3. Strong technical skills across tax planning, compliance and advisory.
4.



Excellent analytical and problem solving ability, with a keen eye for detail.
5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
6. Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
7. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related field, and membership of a professional accounting body (CA or CPA) desirable but not essential.
