With over 50 years of innovation, engineering excellence, and manufacturing strength, we’re proud to call Tasmania home.

We're looking for an IT Infrastructure Specialist who wants more than just a job - someone ready to play a key role in the systems that keep our operations running across three sites. Whether you’re already local to Burnie or dreaming of a sea change to Tasmania’s stunning north-west coast, this is your prospect to work with cutting-edge tech in a place that offers a lifestyle like no other.

The Role

You’ll be hands-on with everything from Windows servers to Azure integrations, driving projects that improve efficiency and keep our systems at peak performance.

Your days will be varied - solving escalated helpdesk issues, planning infrastructure upgrades, scripting process automations, mentoring junior staff, and travelling between sites to keep everything running smoothly.

This is a role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making a measurable impact.

Your Key Contributions

- Keep our systems fast, secure, and reliable through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Be the go-to for escalated technical issues, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
- Manage and optimise Windows Server, Active Directory, LAN/WAN, firewalls, backups, and Office 365.

- Participate in after-hours updates and maintenance to keep systems secure and up-to-date.
- Maintain top-notch documentation and asset records.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior IT staff.
- Be available to assist with occasional after-hours maintenance and take part in a shared on-call roster to help resolve critical infrastructure issues when needed.

What You Bring

- At least 3 years’ experience in Systems/Network Administration or similar.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory; Linux skills a plus.
- Solid networking know-how (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching).
- Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, plus cloud exposure (especially Microsoft Azure).
- PowerShell scripting skills for automation and diagnostics.
- Understanding of security best practices (firewalls, access controls, data protection).
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Valid Class C driver’s licence.

Bonus Points For:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience required.
- Industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certifications or ITIL Foundations) are desirable.
