Role Description The IT Support Officer / IT Support Specialist (Entry / Junior Level) will provide day-to-day remote technical support for the UC Davis Health Structural Heart Program. In this full-time role, the specialist will respond to support requests, diagnose issues, and resolve hardware and software problems for desktop computers, printers, and related devices used by clinical and administrative staff.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting connectivity and application issues, coordinating with central IT teams when needed, and documenting incidents and resolutions in ticketing systems. The specialist will assist with user account setup, basic system configuration, and routine maintenance to ensure reliable access to digital tools used for patient care and program activities, including virtual events and educational sessions. The role also involves communicating clearly with users, prioritizing support requests, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT processes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Troubleshooting to address user issues efficiently and accurately.




- Candidates should possess skills in Information Technology and Desktop Computers to support operating systems, software applications, and workstation configurations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Printer Support to maintain, configure, and resolve printing-related problems in a clinical and office environment.
- Basic knowledge of networks, collaboration tools, and remote support software is beneficial.
- Robust communication skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language are required.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple support tickets, and follow established procedures and security practices.
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or a highly regulated environment and familiarity with data privacy and security standards are a plus.
