About the Role

As a Junior Accountant, you will support the broader Finance team across a range of accounting and financial administration activities. This role would suit an early-career accountant looking to build strong foundations across month-end, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting. You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and have the opportunity to gain exposure to the financial operations of a large, complex retail organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Process journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial reports and management accounts
- Assist with invoice processing and payment runs as required
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting information when required




- Support the Finance team with budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the Finance function
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the wider Finance team

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant who is keen to develop their career within a globally recognised organisation.

You will ideally have

- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- 1-2 years' experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Experience with reconciliations and general ledger processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- The ability to work collaboratively within a busy Finance team

CA/CPA studies, or an intention to commence professional studies, would be highly regarded.
