The Team The Banking and Projects team advises sponsors, borrowers and lenders on infrastructure, energy, resources, acquisition and project finance transactions. The practice combines deep financial markets knowledge with a strong commercial focus, advising clients across the full lifecycle of major energy and infrastructure projects.

The team has significant experience across renewable energy, digital and social infrastructure, resources, PPPs and social and affordable housing. You will work alongside highly regarded project finance practitioners and have the opportunity to learn from lawyers with extensive experience on landmark transactions across Australia and internationally.

The Role

You will primarily work on project finance transactions across infrastructure, energy and resources, with a particular focus on PPPs, social and affordable housing and other major infrastructure projects.

You will have the opportunity to assist on sophisticated project financings from structuring and due diligence through to negotiation, documentation and financial close.



There will also be opportunities to support the team on other financing matters, including acquisition financings, providing a broad foundation across banking and finance.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with a strong finance background who is looking to specialise in project finance and develop long-term relationships with leading clients in the infrastructure and energy sectors.

Responsibilities include:

- Advising sponsors, borrowers and lenders on project finance transactions.
- Assisting with infrastructure, energy, resources and PPP financings.
- Working on social and affordable housing and other major infrastructure projects.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating sophisticated finance and project documentation.
- Assisting with transaction structuring, due diligence and financial close.
- Supporting clients across the full lifecycle of major projects.
- Working collaboratively with experienced lawyers while developing strong client relationships and commercial expertise.
- Assisting with other financing matters, including acquisition finance transactions.

Requirements:

- Around 2 years' post-qualification experience or equivalent.
- Experience in finance,



with direct project finance experience highly regarded.
- Candidates with property finance or general banking experience who are keen to specialise in project finance are also encouraged to apply.
- Robust analytical, drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical advice to clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
- A proactive and motivated approach with a genuine interest in technically challenging and high-profile transactions.
