Emanate Technology is working with a federal government organisation undertaking a major data and technology uplift and is seeking an experienced Senior Data Test Analyst to join the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a tester with a strong data background to work across up-to-date data platforms, data lakes and data pipelines, helping ensure data is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. You'll work closely with developers, data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders in a collaborative Agile environment, playing a key role in delivering quality outcomes across large-scale data initiatives.

About the Role

- Test complex data platforms, data lakes, data products and data pipelines
- Validate data quality, business rules and transformation logic
- Perform reconciliation testing and end-to-end data validation
- Investigate data issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity
- Develop and maintain automated testing capabilities using Python and SQL
- Support regression testing, release testing and UAT activities
- Work closely with delivery teams to identify and resolve defects
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and quality practices

About You

- 5+ years' experience in Software Testing, QA or Test Analysis
- Strong experience testing data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms or other large-scale data environments




- Advanced SQL skills with experience validating complex datasets and data transformations
- Hands-on experience with data lake testing, ETL/ELT testing, data reconciliation and data quality validation
- Experience developing automated testing solutions using Python
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test planning and defect management
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub or similar tools
- Experience supporting or leading UAT activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

- Data migration testing experience
- Exposure to Databricks
- Understanding of Data Mesh and Data Product concepts
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments
- Previous experience delivering within government or large enterprise environments
