About the role

Pisces Food Bar is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic hospitality team on a full-time basis. Based in Virginia, QLD 4014, this role is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of our kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and cleanliness. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our chef and kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

•Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning when needed.

- Assisting with food preparation.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of work surfaces, equipment and utensils
- Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Receiving and storing deliveries in appropriate areas of the kitchen
- Taking out rubbish and recycling waste appropriately
- Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Assisting with basic food stock management and inventory awareness

What we're looking for

- A willingness to learn and develop skills within a professional kitchen environment




- The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks throughout a shift
- Reliability and a positive attitude towards work
- Basic communication skills and the ability to take direction from senior kitchen staff

•Must hold open licence
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
