About The Role A labourer / truck & trailer driver at Cole Civil plays a vital role in supporting the construction projects by undertaking various tasks and ensuring the smooth execution of operations. The main responsibilities and tasks for this position include:
- Assisting with the preparation of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Operating hand and power tools to assist with various construction tasks, such as digging trenches, breaking up concrete, or assisting with asphalt paving.
- Performing routine maintenance on construction equipment and machinery to ensure their proper functioning.
- Following safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
- Supporting the team in completing construction projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
- Working collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and targets.
A labourer/truck & trailer driver is expected to demonstrate solid teamwork skills, physical endurance, attention to detail, and a commitment to following safety procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while contributing to the success of diverse projects.
Required Qualifications
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence (mandatory)
- WorkSafe issued Construction Induction Card (mandatory)
- HC – Truck Licence (mandatory)
- Traffic Control – Ticket (desirable)
Required skills
- Ability to perform manual tasks.
- Ability to use civil construction machinery & equipment.
- Ability to operate basic construction tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of construction safety regulations and procedures
- Good communication skills to follow instructions effectively
- Capability to work in a team environment
Required experience
- Experience operating a truck and trailer
- Prior experience in construction or related field is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with construction site protocols and practices is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle basic construction tasks under supervision
- Experience with using hand and power tools is advantageous
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards within the construction industry is beneficial
