About the role

Lane Buck & Higgins is seeking a dedicated Lawyer - Family Law to join our legal team in Busselton, Western Australia. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality family law services to our clients. As a Family Law Lawyer, you will be providing expert legal advice and representation on family law matters including divorce, property settlement, custody and parenting arrangements, and related disputes.

This position is integral to maintaining the reputation and success of our family law practice.

Key responsibilities

- Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients on family law matters, including divorce, separation, and de facto relationship issues
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, agreements, and court pleadings relevant to family law proceedings
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediation sessions, and court proceedings
- Conducting thorough case analysis and legal research to support client matters
- Managing client relationships and maintaining regular communication regarding case progress
- Advising clients on property settlement, maintenance, and ancillary relief matters
- Handling parenting and custody matters with sensitivity and professionalism
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, court rules, and professional obligations
- Contributing to the growth and reputation of the family law practice

What we're looking for

- Admission to practice as a lawyer in Western Australia
- Minimum of 2 years' post-admission experience in family law practice
- Strong knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and related legislation
- Proven experience in managing family law matters from inception to resolution
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and client management abilities
- Sound understanding of family court procedures and practice
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team




- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining legal knowledge
- Experience with legal practice management software is desirable
