The Chance An excellent opportunity has become available for a lawyer to join a growing Planning, Environment and Government practice in Sydney.

Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will advise government, corporate and development clients across a broad range of planning, environmental, development and regulatory matters. The position offers exposure to complex and high-quality work, with the opportunity to build your technical expertise while taking on increasing responsibility and direct client interaction.

The team offers a collaborative environment where you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience across a varied mix of matters and work closely with senior practitioners and clients.

The Role

You will work across a diverse mix of advisory and contentious planning and environmental matters, which may include:

- Advising on planning, development and environmental approval processes.
- Assisting clients with major development and infrastructure projects.
- Advising on planning controls, environmental regulation and statutory requirements.
- Acting on matters involving local and state government authorities.
- Advising government and private sector clients on regulatory and compliance issues.
- Assisting with planning disputes, appeals and enforcement matters.




- Providing advice in relation to development applications, approvals and consent requirements.
- Conducting legal research and preparing advice on complex planning and environmental issues.
- Working directly with clients, consultants, government bodies and other project stakeholders.

The role provides the opportunity to develop experience across both advisory and contentious matters while working on significant projects and developments.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

- At least 2 years' post-admission experience in planning, environment, government or a related area of law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound legal research, drafting and analytical capabilities.
- A commercial and practical approach to providing legal advice.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A team-oriented approach and confidence working with clients and colleagues.
