An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel with 5–10 years' post-admission experience to join a well-established commercial litigation practice in Sydney.

The Team The Commercial Litigation team advises clients across complex commercial disputes, regulatory investigations and enforcement matters. The practice provides practical, commercially focused advice and takes a strategic approach to resolving high-stakes disputes.
You will work within a collaborative team environment with direct access to experienced practitioners and genuine opportunities for mentoring and professional development. The team handles a broad range of quality litigation matters, providing an excellent platform for a senior lawyer looking to take greater ownership of complex disputes.
The Role
This is an excellent prospect for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join a growing litigation practice and play a key role in managing sophisticated commercial disputes.
You will manage matters with a high level of autonomy, from commencement through to resolution, while working closely with clients, counsel and other stakeholders. The role provides exposure to commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, as well as opportunities to develop your advocacy and strategic advisory skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and running a diverse range of commercial litigation matters with a high level of autonomy.
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other court documents.
- Preparing briefs to counsel and liaising directly with barristers.
- Conducting legal research and providing strategic, commercially focused advice to clients.
- Attending court appearances and assisting with advocacy.
- Managing matters efficiently from commencement through to resolution.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and managing key stakeholders.
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
- Strong technical litigation skills with demonstrated experience managing matters independently.
- Sound knowledge of practice and procedure in the Local, District, Supreme and Federal Courts.
- Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions and correspondence.
- Experience briefing and working closely with counsel.
- Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
