In this role, you’ll take a lead role in shaping how we meet our legislative, industrial, and compliance obligations across Australia. Your work will directly influence how we engage with our people and support our leaders – while proactively managing organisational risk
This is a permanent full time opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
What You'll Do
- Lead development and implementation of governance frameworks for compliance with legislative obligations, collective agreements, employment contracts and policies
- Lead development and management of employee relations policies, including development of new policies and review and revision of existing policies
- Lead and implement strategic employee relations projects ensuring alignment to strategy and compliance obligations
- Lead entitlements compliance with employment laws, enterprise agreements, and internal policies
- Contribute to bargaining support activities for our Enterprise Agreement (Australia)
- Manage the implementation of change initiatives resulting from changes in enterprise/collective agreements, employment agreements and policies
- Partner across Legal, Workforce Compliance, People Operations and Digital Services to translate regulatory and industrial obligations into clear, practical processes and controls and to ensure we remain compliant and future-ready
What You'll Bring
- Seven or more years’ experience as a senior ER / IR practitioner in a commercial organisation of significant complexity.
- Experience in supporting or leading ER / IR projects.
- Experience in responding to escalated grievances
- Strong numeracy and not fazed by spreadsheets
- Experience working in an agile workplace, exercising good judgment with incomplete information
- Strategic mindset – able to anticipate issues and take an active approach resolving them
- Courage and ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience coaching and upskilling leaders and HR practitioners
- Proven ability to actively keep abreast of changes in external environment and translate into internal environment
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across whole of function and broader group to reach common approach
- Relevant tertiary qualifications – Degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Law
