Norton Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Lead Project Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership throughout the development and delivery of a utility-scale solar farm project at our Binduli operation.
Reporting to the Project Superintendent, this position will oversee electrical engineering activities from detailed design through construction, energisation, commissioning and final handover. You will maintain the technical integrity of the project while ensuring all electrical systems comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, grid connection requirements and electrical safety obligations.
What you will be doing:
- Lead electrical engineering activities from design through to commissioning
- Review electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation
- Oversee PV, HV/LV, protection, control and SCADA systems
- Coordinate grid connection requirements with key stakeholders
- Support construction, testing, energisation and commissioning activities
- Resolve technical issues, design changes and non-conformances
- Monitor project deliverables, risks, interfaces and schedules
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and Australian Standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project personnel
To be successful, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A current Australian driver’s licence, White Card and Schedule 26 certification
- At least seven years’ relevant electrical engineering experience
- Experience delivering utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, grid connections and power systems
- Experience across electrical construction, testing and commissioning
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical safety requirements
- Strong leadership, technical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- Chartered Professional Engineer status, or eligibility to obtain CPEng, will be highly regarded.
