Key Accountabilities
- Ensure solution architectures comply with customer security policies, standards, patterns, and principles, with any deviations appropriately assessed and managed through established risk management frameworks and processes.
- Perform Security Quality Assurance activities and support operational readiness processes to ensure solutions meet required security standards.
- Comply with customer business principles, values, Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Security Architects, supporting their career development and delivery capability.
- Develop and maintain security architecture patterns, standards, principles, and guidelines.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across one or more security domains, providing expert guidance to business and technology stakeholders.
- Communicate complex security concepts, risks, and recommendations effectively and influence stakeholders at an executive level.
- Lead and manage high-complexity security initiatives and programs of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, enterprise and domain architects, engineers, delivery teams, product vendors, and strategic partners to define and operationalise appropriate security controls within solution architectures.
- Ensure business and customer information, applications, systems, infrastructure, and network assets are appropriately protected through effective security architecture and controls.
- Assess and evaluate emerging security technologies, capabilities, and industry trends to ensure security architecture standards, strategies, and capability roadmaps remain current and aligned with business objectives.
- Define, document, and maintain reusable security assets, including standardised security requirements, architecture patterns, controls, and guidelines, to improve consistency and reduce rework.
- Contribute to the development,
governance, and continuous improvement of security strategies, standards, frameworks, and architectural principles to establish a coherent and optimised security architecture.
- Define security solution architectures and clearly document associated business, technology, security, operational, and risk impacts.
- Contribute to key architecture and delivery artefacts, including requirements, Solution Impact Assessments, High-Level Designs, Solution Briefs, Solution Architecture Definitions, and Security Risk Assessments.
- Identify, assess, and communicate security risks to business and technology stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with privacy, legal, engineering, operational, risk, and other relevant stakeholders to identify and harmonise security requirements and risk insights.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with industry bodies, technology vendors, and security partners to anticipate emerging security threats, opportunities, and capabilities.
- Leverage industry and vendor expertise to support security innovation, technology evaluation, and security advisory services across business units, partners, and customers.
- Mentor and act as a role model for new and existing Security Architects, including architects on secondment, through coaching, shadowing, process guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve reusable security architecture design patterns, reference architectures, standards, and implementation guidelines.
- Act as a trusted security advisor, providing strategic and technical guidance across multiple security domains.
- Lead complex security initiatives by simplifying highly technical and business-critical challenges into clear, practical, and executable outcomes.
- Drive effective security governance and ensure security considerations are embedded throughout the solution development and delivery lifecycle.
