2/2 FIFO from Perth | Permanent Core Crew
Brilliant Boton (Australia) Conveyor Services is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Belt Splicer to join our established Core Crew supporting ongoing conveyor maintenance operations at Hancock Iron Ore (HIO). This is a long-term, permanent FIFO position working a consistent 14 days on / 14 days off roster, suited to an experienced Level 3 Belt Splicer who is confident leading crews, coordinating belt maintenance activities and stepping up into the Site Supervisor role when required. S26 Required.
We are looking for someone who can become a consistent and reliable member of the site team.
The Role
As Leading Hand, you will work closely with the Site Supervisor and take an active role in the safe and efficient delivery of conveyor belt maintenance and splicing activities.
Your responsibilities will include
- Leading and supporting Belt Splicers and other crew members during site activities.
- Coordinating day-to-day belt maintenance, repairs, change-outs and splicing works.
- Providing hands-on technical leadership and maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures, work packs and client requirements.
- Conducting pre-starts, task planning, JHAs/JHAs and other required site documentation.
- Monitoring job progress, manpower and work priorities throughout the shift.
- Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to less experienced team members.
- Maintaining effective communication with the Site Supervisor, Boton management and client representatives.
- Assisting with incident reporting,
safety observations and corrective actions where required.
- Acting in the Site Supervisor position when required to maintain operational and statutory coverage.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Extensive practical experience as a Level 3 Belt Splicer.
- Previous experience working as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior crew member within conveyor maintenance.
- Strong experience with conveyor belt installation, repair, maintenance and change-outs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews safely and effectively in an operational mining environment.
- Strong understanding of isolation, permit, risk assessment and safe work requirements.
- The confidence and capability to step into a Site Supervisor role when required.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both workforce and client representatives.
- A reliable, team-focused approach and willingness to commit to a permanent Core Crew roster.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Ability to complete all required site medical, drug and alcohol and mobilisation requirements.
S26 / Statutory Supervisor Requirements
Candidates who already hold the relevant S26 statutory supervisor competency/appointment requirements will be highly regarded. Alternatively, experienced Leading Hands who are suitable to progress through the required S26 training and assessment within the required timeframe are encouraged to apply.

- Roster: 14 days on / 14 days off
