You'll still be hands-on with the plumbing and drainage work, but you'll also take responsibility for keeping jobs organised and moving forward. This is an opportunity to move beyond simply being on the tools and take more responsibility for running jobs, coordinating the team and working closely with builders and clients.
Key responsibilities
- Running plumbing and drainage jobs from start to finish
- Supervising and working alongside apprentices and labourers
- Organising the team and allocating work
- Reading plans and coordinating works on site
- Liaising with builders, contractors and clients
- Ordering and organising materials
- Keeping jobs on schedule and ensuring they are completed to a high standard
- Helping with quoting and estimating
- Assisting with scheduling upcoming work
- Identifying issues before they become problems
About you
- Is a fully qualified plumber
- Has solid experience in residential construction plumbing and drainage
- Can confidently read plans and run jobs
- Has robust attention to detail and takes pride in their work
- Can communicate well with builders,
clients and other trades
- Is organised, reliable and takes ownership of their work
- Can lead apprentices and labourers by example
- Is comfortable working independently
- Wants to develop their career and take on more responsibility
