Third Wave BBQ is a brand that pulls a crowd. Big smoke, loud rooms, dishes people photograph before they take a bite — and close to 5 million people following along online, with our content racking up hundreds of millions of views a month. That's not a restaurant number. That's a media number, and it's the engine behind everything we do.

We started with one venue in Melbourne back in 2010. Since then, we have grown into a multi-site group with a brand that behaves nothing like a quiet little restaurant chain — food theatre, viral videos, packed rooms, and a following most hospitality brands would kill for. Now we're pushing hard: new venues opening across Australia and overseas, with a plan to reach 50 stores in the next three years.

That's where you come in.

We need someone whose job is to make Third Wave the obvious choice in every neighbourhood we are in — turning brand energy into real local growth. You'll be the one talking to the footy club, the gym, the school P&F;, the hotel down the road, and turning a chat into a partnership that puts bums on seats. You'll keep the brand alive locally, not just online.

This is not just a desk job with occasional fresh air.

What you'll actually do

- Build and run a network of local partners around each venue — roughly 20 to 30 active at any time in our priority areas
- Find them, meet them, sign them up, and keep the relationship warm
- Cook up local promotions, group bookings, referral deals, giveaways and community activations that give people a reason to come in
- Run the programs that bring customers back a second, third and fourth time
- Manage and reply to social media comments, DMs and customer enquiries so nobody's left hanging
- Help roll out programmatic advertising campaigns alongside the marketing team
- Support the Social team with comment and DM management
- Pitch in on content — you'll be out in the venues and the community where a lot of it starts
- Sit down with venue managers to work out what each local patch actually needs
- Keep on top of Melbourne venues in person,

and sometimes travel interstate — and eventually overseas — as we grow
- Track what's working: which partners, which campaigns, which suburbs — so we do more of it

You'll do this alongside our internal marketing team, who own the brand and the big social channels — you'll be their feet on the ground. Where AI tools help you move faster on outreach, planning, reporting and content, use them. If you're already handy with them, great. If not, we'll get you up to speed — we care more that you're keen to learn.

This is you if

- You're good with people, and you don't mind being the one to start the conversation
- You can juggle a lot of relationships without letting any of them go cold
- You follow up. "Not right now" doesn't rattle you
- You're comfortable in the comments, the DMs and the customer messages, not just face-to-face
- You think about what actually drives bookings and repeat visits, not just what looks good
- You'd rather be moving than sitting still

You'll need

- A driver's licence and a reliable car — you'll be on the road between venues and partners most weeks (that's what the car allowance is for)
- To be up for interstate travel — and the odd overseas trip — when the business calls for it
- Solid writing and a way with people, on the page and in the room
- Confidence across social media platforms
- To be organised, and to follow through

Nice to have

- A background in hospitality, events, partnerships, sales, community work or local marketing
- Experience with loyalty, CRM, or email and SMS campaigns
- A feel for Meta, TikTok, Google Ads or programmatic
- Experience with franchise, multi-site or restaurant brands

Where it goes We're growing fast, and we'd rather promote from within than hire over the top. Get this right and there's room to grow into bigger things — partnerships, customer retention, franchise marketing, community activation, running campaigns nationally. Join early and you tend to end up with the most engaging job in the room.

If you like people, food, movement and the idea of building something while it's still getting big — send it through.
