The Opportunity

Bridgeman Downs Retirement Village is a welcoming community in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, set among beautifully maintained gardens and close to Aspley Hypermarket, Westfield Chermside and Carseldine Central. Just 5km from Carseldine Train Station, the village offers easy access to the Brisbane CBD and Moreton Bay. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will be play an key role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well maintained and visually appealing.

You’ll take care of day‑to‑day gardening and grounds maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with strong gardening experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, hands‑on role.This is a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday (7am – 3pm). No weekend work!

Your Impact Attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe & pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff

Be responsible for the maintenance of all village gardens including weeding, mowing, hedging, pruning, mulching and green waste removal

Ensure all community spaces are appealing and safe for our community and visitors

Maintain effective working relationships with maintenance contractors and suppliers

Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules Complete additional adhoc tasks delegated to you by Community Leaders

Build strong relationships with our residents and enjoy helping them to live their best lives with well-maintained areas.

What you'll bring Gardening or grounds experience,



with a strong sense of pride and ownership in your work A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action

Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work A valid driver’s licence (essential)

Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required) What we offer $30.34p/h + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances All tools and supplies provided Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program
