Role Description The Mechanical Designer position is a full-time, based in Townsville, QLD. The role involves developing mechanical designs, technical drawings, and CAD models. Day-to-day responsibilities include using CAD software to produce layouts and 3D models, occasional site visits, and collaborating with the team to develop and refine concepts.





The Mechanical Designer will participate in design reviews, perform quality checks, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and templates.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for 2D and 3D mechanical layouts and models.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Plant 3D and familiarity with applicable drafting standards and codes.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
- Candidates should possess experience in developing concept and detailed design drawings.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.
- Prior experience in an engineering consultancy or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
