Mechanical Designer / Draftsperson

We're looking for a Mechanical Designer / Draftsperson to join our high-performing Design Team.

Whether you're an experienced designer looking to take the next step in your career, or a junior designer ready to build your skills in a hands-on engineering environment, we'd love to hear from you.

In this pivotal role, you'll take projects from concept through to workshop fabrication and final construction. Your mechanical design expertise - including pumps, piping and detailed modelling - will help shape the next generation of emergency vehicles and equipment. Candidates with a vehicle body building or trade background will be especially valued for the practical insight they bring to our design process.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop recent products and vehicle systems

- Create and implement design changes and revisions

- Develop detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings

- Provide technical support to the workshop team

- Ensure deliverables meet relevant codes, standards, customer needs and regulatory requirements

- Work efficiently within project timelines and deadlines

What Are We Looking For?

Experienced Designers:

- 3-5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design / Drafting

- Strong experience in automotive, vehicle or mechanical design

- Strong 3D SolidWorks proficiency

- Certificate IV / Diploma in Mechanical / CAD Engineering

- Previous sheet metal and vehicle body building experience highly regarded

Junior Designers:





- Relevant Certificate IV / Diploma or qualification in Mechanical Engineering / CAD

- Some SolidWorks experience through study, work or personal projects
- A genuine interest in mechanical and vehicle design

- Strong willingness to learn and develop practical design skills

- Previous workshop, fabrication or trade experience highly regarded
