About the role

Crisp Bros. & Haywards is seeking a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist to join our team in Tasmania that services our southern operations including site construction and installation projects. We service a wide variety of clients across the aquaculture, industrial, mining and construction sectors. The position is permanent, full time after completion of a successful probationary period and is based at our Margate workshop.

Key responsibilities

- Mechanical fitting and field service fitting work
- Fitting and turning activities
- Welding including MIG, MMA and TIG
- Work on hydraulic systems

About you

- Trade Certificate qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or similar
- Previous experience in mechanical fitting, field service fitting and/or fitting and turning
- Intermediate welding skills, including MIG, MMA and TIG
- Experience with hydraulic systems is desirable
- A positive and proactive approach to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Strong hands-on work ethic and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision




- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Robust communication, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites as required
- A commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
