Due to exciting new expansion in Geelong, we are looking for a Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at Gouge.

As a Mechanical Fitter at Gouge and play a vital role in maintaining and improving our production equipment. Working in a fast-paced industrial environment, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding and continuous improvement activities to keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter looking for long-term stability, variety in their work, and the chance to be part of a supportive, family-owned business that values safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & experience
- Trade qualification - mechanical fitting or fitter turner or similar MUST.
- Construction Induction (white card).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Solid diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience with Steam and Air systems is preferred.
- Experience in prioritising jobs and multitasking.
- Experience in one of the following would be advantageous; welding, construction, manufacturing, boom lift, plant operations.
- Strong understanding of OHS.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Working on new equipment installations and upgrades.
- Attending to breakdown call outs and Preventative Maintenance.
- Responsible for fostering a strong relationship with the production manager and the systems officer to ensure. priorities are being met, and maintenance schedules are fulfilled with minimal disruption to production.
- Regular monitoring of equipment and machinery, checking in with operators to ensure machinery is running as expected.
- Providing service to all factions of the business from Production through to Logistics.
