SmartCare Diagnostics
Springfield Central and Upper Mount Gravatt | Full-time and part-time | Monday to Friday
SmartCare Diagnostics is growing. We are looking for experienced Medical Receptionists to join our Springfield Central and Upper Mount Gravatt clinics, in permanent full-time and part-time roles.
The role
Most of our patients are worried when they arrive. Reassurance is what we deliver, and it starts with you on the front desk. You bring the reception experience. We will add the specialist side — teaching you the ins and outs of cardiac, respiratory and sleep diagnostics, and the requirements that go with them.
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and managing a busy reception environment
- Booking and coordinating diagnostic appointments, including multi-test visits
- Managing appointment diaries and maximising availability
- Answering calls and patient enquiries
- Reviewing referrals and patient information
- Liaising with specialists, GPs, patients and healthcare providers
- Processing payments, issuing invoices and receipts
- Medicare billing, HPOS checks, batch submission and rejection follow-up
- Preparing banking and maintaining the petty cash float
- Maintaining accurate records and patient confidentiality
About you
- Previous medical reception or administration experience
- Detail focused — in diagnostics, a missed eligibility check is the difference between a claimable test and an unclaimable one
- Uses initiative and looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told
- Communicates confidently with patients, doctors and colleagues
- Manages competing priorities without losing accuracy
- Confident with medical and administrative software
What we offer
- Permanent full-time and part-time positions
- Monday to Friday clinic hours.
- Competitive hourly rate, above award, plus 12% superannuation.
- Full paid training in cardiac, respiratory and sleep diagnostics, HPOS and specialist billing
- Supportive specialist and clinical team
- Uniform supplied
- Free onsite parking
- A pathway into senior administration and leadership as SmartCare grows, for people who demonstrate consistent accuracy, sound judgement and the ability to lift the team around them
Requirements
Right to work in Australia. National Police Check. Evidence of immunisation in line with our clinical policy. Some travel between sites is required.
