At Richmind WA, our new Step Up Step Down (SUSD) service in Karratha and are looking for a passionate Mental Health Recovery Practitioner to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new residential mental health service, supporting people experiencing mental health challenges to build confidence, strengthen independence, and move towards the life they want to live.

Description: About the Role

As a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner, you will work closely with residents to develop and implement recovery-focused plans, facilitate meaningful one-on-one sessions, and deliver therapeutic group programs that support personal growth and wellbeing.

Working Monday to Friday, you will play a key role in helping people navigate their recovery journey while contributing to a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Developing and reviewing individual recovery plans in partnership with residents

- Facilitating recovery-focused one-on-one support sessions

- Delivering group programs and psychoeducational activities

- Supporting residents to identify strengths, goals and practical strategies for recovery

- Collaborating with families, carers and key stakeholders where appropriate

- Completing documentation and maintaining accurate records

- Promoting recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred practice

- Contributing to a positive team culture and continuous service improvement

Skills and Experiences: About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Community Services, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or a related field

- Experience supporting people experiencing mental distress

- Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care

- Strong communication, relationship building and facilitation skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine commitment to person-centred support and social inclusion





- Strong documentation and computer skills

Desirable

- Experience working in residential mental health services

- Experience facilitating therapeutic groups

This role is full-time working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
