Thomas Foods International Feedlot is a key operation in growing, supplying, and distributing premium meat to the world and forms part of the agricultural division of Thomas Foods International, one of Australia’s largest family-owned businesses.

The Feedlot with a 27,000 standard cattle unit capacity is located in Tintinara, South Australia, and is a key partner of the new Murray Bridge Processing Plant.

With the Feedlot currently undergoing a significant expansion to 38,000 SCU, this is an exciting time to join the business. About the role The Mill Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and high-quality operation of the Feedmill, with a primary focus on feeding operations, production efficiency and maintaining consistently high feed quality standards.

The role plays a critical part in the preparation and delivery of feed that meets the nutritional requirements of the cattle. Key responsibilities include overseeing the milling and processing of grain, monitoring production processes, ensuring feed is produced to specification, and maintaining a robust focus on quality, accuracy and efficiency.





The Mill Operator will also assist with daily feeding of cattle through the operation of feed trucks and loader as well as assist with cleaning and general maintenance around the mill. The candidate will assist with commodity hygiene and will be able to identify and address operational issues as they arise, working proactively to minimise downtime and maintain a consistent flow of production. The role requires close attention to detail, sound operational judgement and a strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate The candidate we are looking for will have the following attributes:

- Heavy machinery operation experience is desirable
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound practical problem solving skills
- Sound time management and organisation skills
- Current drivers licence, desirable MR
