Role Description The Mineral Processing Engineer will play a key role in optimizing grinding media performance and mineral processing circuits for mining clients and internal stakeholders. In this full-time, hybrid role based in Australia, the engineer will analyze plant data, conduct site audits, and collaborate with operations teams to improve throughput, recovery, and energy efficiency.
Daily responsibilities include evaluating grinding circuit performance, designing and implementing process trials,
and interpreting laboratory and field test results to guide product application and process changes. The engineer will work closely with R&D;, sales, and technical service teams to translate client requirements into engineering solutions, prepare technical reports and presentations, and support product development for different ore types and mill configurations.
Qualifications
- Robust analytical skills, including data analysis, performance evaluation, and problem-solving in mineral processing environments.
- Process engineering experience in comminution, grinding circuits, classification, and overall mineral processing flowsheets.
- Knowledge of signal processing or advanced data interpretation techniques for plant monitoring, sensor data, and control systems.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with grinding media selection, mill liner interactions, and wear mechanisms is highly beneficial.
- Experience with process simulation tools, statistical software, or advanced Excel for modeling and analysis.
- Effective communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, presenting technical insights, and supporting clients on-site.
- Ability to work safely in mining and plant environments, with willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
