What you'll be doing

As a Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine, you will:

- Provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care within the 16-bed Rehabilitation Unit at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (with planned expansion capacity to 24 beds)
- Deliver consultative services to acute medical patients
- Provide outpatient rehabilitation clinics, including prosthetic, orthotic, spasticity (botulinum toxin), and high-risk foot clinics
- Contribute to outreach services across the MLHD, including Narrandera, Temora, Tumut, and other sites via in office visits and telehealth
- Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Supervise and support junior medical staff
- Participate in clinical governance,



quality improvement, education, and research activities
- Contribute to on-call and rostered responsibilities as required

Selection Criteria

1. Holds unconditional specialist registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA) in the specialty of Rehabilitation Medicine
2. Evidence of Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of contemporary evidence based best practice In Rehabilitation Medicine and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, and colleagues
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and training at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
6. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to involvement in quality improvement and research programs, and an ability to work in a computerised environment.
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional
8. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
