Job Requirements
- Experience in insurance, underwriting support, broker support, policy administration, or a customer service role within the insurance industry.
- A sound understanding of underwriting principles, insurance products, and policy administration processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively support brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet service standards.
- The ability to analyse information, assess risk, and make sound decisions within delegated authority.
- Experience using policy management, customer relationship management, and Microsoft Office systems, including Excel.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach and a willingness to support colleagues across the business.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Tier 2 Insurance qualification (or willingness to obtain) will be highly regarded.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess and process moored craft insurance risks in line with underwriting guidelines and delegated authority.
- Provide timely and professional support to brokers, customers, Business Development Managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Review and action new business, referrals, endorsements, cancellations, and policy amendments.
- Maintain accurate policy, client, and underwriting records across relevant systems.
- Support the delivery of service level targets by effectively managing enquiries, quotes, and policy transactions.
- Assist with premium reviews, Letters of Authority, renewals, and other policy administration activities.
- Contribute to quality underwriting outcomes through accurate risk assessment and attention to detail.
- Build strong working relationships across the business to support customer and portfolio outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting procedures, delegated authority limits, regulatory obligations, and internal policies.
- Participate in learning and development activities to build product knowledge, underwriting capability, and industry expertise.
- Support broader team and business objectives by contributing to projects and assisting other teams as required.
