About the Role.

Our client is a long established, award-winning multi franchise dealership based in Cairns, Far North Queensland. With a proud 30 year history of serving the community, they are now seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead a talented team of 11 technicians and 3 apprentices across a busy, high performing workshop facility.

This is a hands on leadership role where your day to day focus will be on workflow efficiency, quality outcomes, and building a positive team culture. You'll be the operational engine of the workshop, connecting technicians, service advisors and customers to ensure every vehicle is fixed right, first time.

Key Responsibilities.

Manage and distribute workshop workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity

Drive the "Fix it Right the First Time" standard as a core KPI for customer satisfaction

Lead, motivate and support a team of 11 technicians and 3 apprentices

Assist in mentoring apprentices through the OEM Apprenticeship Program

Facilitate clear communication between technicians and service advisors

Track vehicle carryovers and reworks, resolving issues to maintain workshop flow

Assist the team to meet workshop budgets and performance targets

Support customers with repair explanations where needed

Your Remuneration Package.

What We're Looking for to be considered for this role you will ideally bring.

A current manual driver's license

Prior experience as a Foreman or Senior Technician within a franchised dealership (highly regarded)

Cert 3 or higher in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (highly regarded)

Comprehensive mechanical knowledge and sound understanding of Health & Safety regulations

Excellent communication skills across all levels, from apprentices to customers

Strong organizational and computer skills, including warranty process knowledge A commitment to quality, safety and a positive team culture
