About the role

Our School is seeking a permanent, part-time Music Teacher (Years 7–12), commencing in January 2027 (Term 1, 2027). The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and capable classroom teacher who brings energy, creativity and high expectations to the delivery of Music across Years 7 to 12. Working closely with the Head of Music and sub-school leadership, the teacher will deliver well-planned, engaging lessons that reflect the School's commitment to student growth, active learning, creativity and individual wellbeing.

Beyond excellence in classroom practice, the successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development of a contemporary and future-focused Music program, supporting students to develop as confident performers, creative thinkers, composers, collaborators and independent musicians.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Music across Years 7 to 12, in accordance with School curriculum documents and relevant frameworks, including SACE Stage 1 and Stage 2 Music.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the learning needs of all students.
- Set clear learning intentions and success criteria, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain current and accurate records of student attendance, assessment, and progress.
- Participate in moderation and collaborative planning with departmental colleagues.
- Use the School's learning management system (Canvas) to communicate with students and share resources.
- Incorporate contemporary teaching practices, music technologies and relevant digital tools to enhance student learning and creativity.
- Foster positive,



respectful relationships with students that support their learning and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Music and relevant sub-school leadership teams.
- Deliver an engaging, inclusive Music program that supports the creative, social and emotional development of Middle and Senior School students.

About you

- Tertiary qualification in education with a teaching area in Music.
- Current teacher registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across Years 7–12.
- Current First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Experience coordinating school music ensembles - bands, choirs, string groups, contemporary ensembles (desirable).
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in music technology, digital music production and contemporary music practices (desirable).
- Experience in composition, arranging, improvisation or creative music-making (desirable).
- Experience supporting students undertaking SACE Music, particularly at Stage 1 and Stage 2 and International Baccalaureate Diploma, Group 6 - music (desirable).
