NDIS Support Worker – Albert Park
Location: Albert Park, VIC
Hours: 11:00am–4:00pm, typically Tuesday–FridayFrequency: Ongoing / weekly support
About the Role
Assist Support Services is seeking an experienced NDIS Support Worker to support a participant in Albert Park.
Support is generally provided for a 5-hour shift between Tuesday and Friday, depending on the participant’s needs and schedule (and every second Saturday).
The role involves providing support with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation and community access as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with showering and personal hygiene
- Supporting the participant with getting dressed
- Preparing and cooking meals
- Assistance with daily living tasks
- Supporting community access and activities as required
- Encouraging independence and choice
- Building a positive and professional rapport
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
About You We are looking for an experienced support worker who is confident providing personal care and working with participants who may present with challenging behaviours or communication.
You will need to be:
- Experienced and confident in NDIS support work
- Comfortable providing personal care, including showering and dressing assistance
- Calm, patient and professional
- Confident in managing challenging situations
- Able to establish and maintain transparent professional boundaries
- A confident cook,
as meal preparation is an important part of the role
- Comfortable working independently
- Reliable and flexible with your availability
- Respectful, compassionate and non-judgemental
Professional Boundaries Strong professional boundaries are essential for this position.
The participant may occasionally make requests that are outside the scope of a support worker’s role. You must be confident in respectfully declining inappropriate requests, maintaining professional boundaries and redirecting the participant appropriately.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Previous NDIS/support work experience
- Experience supporting participants with complex or challenging behaviours
- Experience providing personal care, including showering and dressing
- Ability to confidently prepare and cook meals
- Right to work in Australia
