About the role
Occupational Therapist
Build your OT career with support around you
At Forbes Care, we believe you should be able to grow as an Occupational Therapist without feeling like you have to figure everything out alone. You’ll work with clients to understand what matters to them and find practical ways to make everyday life safer, easier and more meaningful. This could include building daily living skills, recommending equipment, modifying environments or developing strategies that support greater independence.
You’ll have regular supervision, an experienced clinical team and admin support behind you—so you can focus on becoming a confident OT and doing meaningful work.
What you’ll be doing
Your role will include:
- Providing OT services in clients’ homes, the community, our clinic and via telehealth.
- Getting to know your clients, their strengths, needs and goals.
- Completing assessments to understand how clients manage everyday activities.
- Developing practical therapy plans with clear and achievable goals.
- Supporting clients to build skills, confidence and independence.
- Recommending assistive technology, equipment, environmental changes or home modifications.
- Working alongside families, support coordinators, case managers and other health professionals.
- Advocating for clients and supporting them to make informed decisions.
- Writing clear and professional reports and clinical notes.
- Monitoring progress and adjusting therapy when a client’s needs change.
- Managing your caseload and diary with support from our admin and leadership teams.
- Participating in regular supervision, professional development and team activities.
- Asking questions, sharing ideas and continuing to grow your clinical skills.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current or eligible AHPRA registration.
- Professional indemnity insurance.
- A current driver’s licence.
- A genuine interest in helping people participate in everyday life.
- Solid communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage your time and stay organised.
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback and continue developing.
- The confidence to work independently while knowing when to ask for support.
- Basic confidence using computer systems and applications.
- A commitment to respectful, person-centred and evidence-based practice.
Experience is welcome, but you don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you care about your work, are open to learning and want to be part of a team that supports one another.
Why join Forbes Care?
At Forbes Care, you won’t just be handed a caseload and left to work it out.
You’ll receive
- Regular clinical supervision.
- Support from experienced senior OTs and clinical leaders.
- A structured onboarding process.
- Practical professional development.
- Administration and booking support.
- Opportunities to explore different clinical areas.
- A team that values questions, feedback and new ideas.
- Meaningful work with clients in real-life environments.
- Opportunities to grow your confidence, skills and career.
