Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Specialist Community Engagement is responsible for developing and maintaining positive, productive and respectful relationships between Larvotto Resources and the communities in which Hillgrove Mine operates. The role acts as the primary point of contact for community, landholder, Indigenous, education, business and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring Larvotto maintains its social licence to operate while delivering meaningful benefits to local communities. The position supports transparent communication, proactive stakeholder management, community investment initiatives and effective engagement regarding mining operations, environmental performance, employment opportunities and future development plans.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement Hillgrove's Community Engagement Strategy
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, businesses, landholders, community groups and key stakeholders
- Act as the first point of contact for community enquiries, concerns and feedback
- Coordinate and facilitate community consultation activities
- Represent Larvotto at community meetings, forums and industry events
- Develop and maintain respectful relationships with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal community representatives
- Support Indigenous employment, training and business participation initiatives
- Assist in identifying and delivering community investment initiatives that provide lasting benefits to local communities
- Manage community enquiries and complaints in a professional and responsive manner
- Support compliance with community consultation and stakeholder engagement requirements contained within approvals, licences and management plans
About you
- Qualification in Communications, Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement or related discipline; or demonstrated equivalent experience in community engagement, external affairs or stakeholder relations
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications or external affairs
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience managing sensitive issues and community concerns
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong communication, presentation and facilitation abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
- High level conflict resolution and negotiation skills
