OPERATIONS COORDINATOR | CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT HIRE | CANBERRA ACT

$75,000 - $90,000 + Super | Full-Time Permanent

Organised, good with people and know how to keep a busy operation moving? We're looking for an energetic and hands-on Operations Coordinator to join a busy construction equipment hire business in Canberra.

This is a key operational position working across a team of approximately 10-15 people, helping coordinate daily activities, workloads, equipment and customer requirements.

If you're a natural organiser, communicate well with people and enjoy solving problems in a fast-moving environment, this could be an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in operations.

About the Role

Working closely with management, you'll help coordinate the day-to-day operations of a busy equipment hire depot. You'll work across the yard, workshop, administration and customer-facing teams, helping ensure priorities are communicated, equipment is ready when required and daily operations run efficiently.

This isn't a role where you'll spend the entire day behind a desk. You'll be involved with the team, customers and equipment while keeping the operation organised.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily operational activities and workloads Work closely with a team of approximately 10-15 employees Allocate daily tasks and communicate operational priorities

Coordinate activities between the yard, workshop and administration teams

Assist with equipment scheduling, availability and allocation

Monitor workflow and help resolve operational issues

Coordinate customer collections, returns and equipment requirements

Ensure customer requests are handled efficiently and professionally

Assist with daily planning and resource coordination

Maintain accurate operational records and documentation

Support management with process improvements and operational efficiency

Promote high standards of safety and workplace organisation





Build positive relationships across the team and with customers

Help create an effective, accountable and positive working environment

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with: Previous experience in operations, coordination, logistics or a similar environment

Experience working with and coordinating teams

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Confidence communicating tasks and priorities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving ability

Ability to remain organised when priorities change

Good customer service skills

Basic computer and administrative capability

Current Driver's Licence

Highly Regarded

Equipment hire industry experience Construction, civil or trade industry exposure

Plant or machinery knowledge

Logistics, transport or warehousing experience

- Workshop or yard coordination experience

Equipment hire experience isn't essential. Candidates from construction, logistics, transport, warehousing, workshops or other fast-paced operational environments are encouraged to apply.

You don't need to be a traditional "manager" or "supervisor". What matters is that you can organise people, communicate clearly, solve problems and keep operations moving.
