As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Painting Trades Worker to join our team and contribute to our painting projects across Melbourne.

ABOUT THE ROLE

AHB RISE PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and trade-qualified Painting Trades Worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of painting, decorating, surface preparation, and finishing works across various client and project sites throughout metropolitan Melbourne.

You will be responsible for completing painting works to a high standard while working safely and efficiently and coordinating with supervisors, clients, and other trades where required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, filling holes and cracks, sanding, priming, and sealing surfaces.
- Preparing and mixing paints, stains, varnishes, and other coating products to required colours and specifications.
- Applying paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Applying decorative and specialty finishes where required.
- Painting internal and external walls, ceilings, doors, frames, trims, and other surfaces.
- Hanging wallpaper,



matching patterns, and trimming edges where required.
- Preparing and applying coatings to achieve specified finishes.
- Reading and interpreting work instructions, plans, colour schedules, and specifications.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure surfaces meet required quality standards.
- Protecting floors, fixtures, furniture, and adjacent surfaces from paint and coating materials.
- Cleaning and maintaining painting equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Undertaking minor surface repairs and preparation associated with painting works.
- Complying with all WHS requirements, site safety procedures, inductions, and SWMS.
- Working safely from ladders and elevated work platforms where required.
- Liaising professionally with supervisors, clients, and other trades.
- Maintaining appropriate records of materials used and reporting progress and issues to supervisors.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEEssential Requirements
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (CPC30620) or an equivalent trade qualification recognised in Australia.
- Minimum 1+ years of demonstrated experience in painting and decorating.
- Proficiency in brush, roller, and spray paint application methods.
- Sound knowledge of surface preparation, including sanding, filling, priming, and sealing.




- Ability to work from plans, specifications, colour schedules, and work instructions.
- Experience working safely at heights and on active construction or project sites.
- Current or ability to obtain a White Card (CPCWHS1001).
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements
- Experience in commercial painting projects.
- Experience in residential painting and renovation projects.
- Experience with specialty coatings and decorative finishes.
- Current Victorian painter's registration, where applicable.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Experience with Dulux, Taubmans, or equivalent commercial-grade products.

- Salary of $80,000-$85,000 per annum + 12% superannuation.
