ABOUT AUSTRALIANS TOGETHER
Australians Together is a not-for-profit organisation. We’re a passionate and diverse group of First Nations people and non-Indigenous people who want to see lived experiences of First Nations people improved. We recognise there’s a wound in the spirit of our nation, and for healing to take place, we need to work together.
Our staff, consultants and collaborators are located across Australia, and we respectfully learn from, and partner with, First Nations cultural and community Elders and leaders, academics and educators.
WORKING WITH US
Australians Together is a remote organisation, and our team works from home across Australia. For this role, we’re looking for someone based in Sydney or the surrounding area, as regular travel to schools, partners and events will be required.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working autonomously but genuinely enjoys being part of a team. Someone who brings their knowledge and experience to the work, is open to shared learning, and believes in the importance of helping educators build their confidence to meaningfully embed First Nations perspectives.
If you’re an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander educator who’s ready to use your teaching experience in a different way – building relationships, supporting other educators and contributing to meaningful change – we’d love to hear from you.
THE ROLE
As a Partnerships Manager – Education Specialist, you’ll use your education experience and understanding of schools, teachers and classroom practice to build strong and meaningful partnerships within the education sector.
You’ll work with existing partners as well as identify and develop new relationships with schools,
education networks and key stakeholders. You’ll help educators understand how Australians Together’s resources, workshops and partnerships can support their teaching and learning.
A key part of your role will be facilitating professional learning and workshops for educators. You’ll help teachers move from understanding why First Nations perspectives matter to knowing how they can meaningfully and confidently embed them into classroom practice.
With your teaching experience, you’ll support other Partnership Managers with coaching, guidance and resources so they feel confident engaging with educators and facilitating Australians Together workshops.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a First Nations educator who understands what teaching looks like day to day. You understand the opportunities and challenges teachers can experience when embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into their teaching and can support educators to build their knowledge and confidence.
