This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

Provide safe, comfortable transport for patients requiring transfer to Health Care facilities or destinations within and external to the District.

About Wilcannia

Wilcannia is a small, primarily Aboriginal community in far west NSW situated on the banks of the Darling River. Once a busy river port, the town is full of history and heritage listed buildings. The outdoor cinema, music festivals and a bunch of local sporting opportunities including tennis, golf, lawn bowls and footy will keep you busy. In the heart of the Aussie Outback, life in Wilcannia is quiet, clean and beautiful.

The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds. Wilcannia MPS has been providing care to the local community for over 140 years.

How to apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

- Current licence to drive in NSW with a proven safe driving record, verified by a Roads and Maritime Services licence summary prepared within the month prior to applying for the position. Current Advanced First Aid Advanced Cardiopulmonary (HLTAID00, Advanced Resuscitation/ CPR (HLTAID00- certificates as minimum qualifications, with ability to successfully complete further mandatory and refresher training as required
- Sound communication skills, including the ability to write accurate clinical records, to communicate effectively and respectfully with health professionals about clinical matters (within the scope of the role)



and to provide sensitive customer service to a diverse range of clients.
- Ability work both independently and collaborate effectively with others as a member of a team.
- Ability to accurately identify the ways in which Work Health and Safety legislation and policy applies to non-emergency patient transport. Physically capable of transferring patients, loading, unloading and manoeuvring patients around, on and off stretchers or wheelchairs.
- Ability to accurately plan and prioritise allocated responsibilities to effectively manage daily workloads and perform in high volume and pressured environments.
- Sound information and communication technology skills- in the use of computer hardware and software programs for word processing, emails, documentation, internet access and telephony.
- Knowledge of challenges of working in a remote area.
